We believe a library is at the heart of every school

We offer a complete FF&E solution to education clients, where libraries or learning resource centres are one of our key specialist areas of expertise.

We understand library refurbishments are an important capital investment for schools, so using our access to the widest range of furniture designed for education environments, and our commitment to quality, best value and durability, we deliver a return on your investment and an inspiring space that students will benefit from for years to come.

A space where students feel relaxed and inspired to read.

Through imaginative design we help you create a vibrant library space that nurtures the potential of every pupil.

Create fully customisable storage and display walls with a touch of enchantment! Ideal for putting your own stamp on your design and elevating the space so students feel attracted and invited into their surroundings. Can be fitted single sided along an existing wall or double-sided to create a room divider. The modularity of the design allows for flexibility and creativity so we build a StoryWall® that is unique for your school library.

Reading Nooks

Add a touch of wonder to your space by creating a secret escape! Reading nooks are cosy and magical places where students can relax and let their imagination be free. They are also a great way to maximise the space and make good use of those tricky corners.

Book Storage

We offer a wide choice of quality and contemporary shelving systems, fitted and freestanding bookcases, and stylish book spinners, display units or mobile storage in a range of colours and finishes to compliment your design theme and maximise the use of your space.

Storytime Spaces

Capture the imagination of younger pupils with vibrant and engaging storytime spaces. Bright floor mats and comfortable seating create relaxing spaces for children to discover their passion for reading. We offer a wide selection of different seating styles, shapes, colours and themes from woodland toadstools, bright beanbags to colourful pods.

Collaborative Furniture

As the central hub of your school, the library is a great space for students to come together and share ideas. Through clever spatial layout and furniture configuration, we create collaborative spaces for students to engage, discuss, and learn together as a school community.

Media & Technology Hubs

Access to a variety of different resources to read, research and study is so important as pupils all learn and absorb information in different ways. From ICT stations, to interactive smart screens and whiteboards, and even acoustic pods for hosting your own school radio station, we can design and install the solution that works for your LRC.

Partner with us to unlock the potential of your library space and discover an exciting
new chapter where students, literacy and learning thrive.

Sensory Spaces

We recognise the need to offer therapeutic areas within a school for students with special educational needs and disabilities. Incorporating sensory spaces within your library design supports student well-being and inclusivity. We work with you to understand the individual needs of your pupils to create a controlled sensory-focussed space.

The use of tactile surfaces, different textures, acoustics, light and music are ways we introduce sensory elements into the design. We achieve this through careful consideration of the materials, fabrics and colours used in the interior aesthetics and with the use of sensory-engaging products such as mood lighting, bubble tubes and cosy dens.

Imagination without Limitation

The most exciting designs are those that are unique. We use our furniture and design expertise to create bespoke themes and products that add that impressive wow factor to your school library.

It could be a ride on the storytime train, a flight in the book balloon, a fairytale castle or a book beach hut – we love a challenge! By creating a theme through furniture, graphics or colour schemes we create inspiring environments for young readers.

Planning Guide

A sixth form centre provides a dedicated space for sixth form students to relax, study and socialise. We encourage workshops where students take part in design discussions, making them feel included and an integral part of creating surroundings that best suit their needs.
Key considerations are:

Our experienced Furniture Consultants assess the space and measure up or work from detailed floor plans. The Department for Education’s ‘Building Bulletin 103’ advises each school must have a library or LRC with a total area of at least 9 square metres plus 0.05 square metres for every primary pupil place. The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) recommend that a library should be able to accommodate one class of pupils to be seated within the library.

Our in-house design team have decades of experience working on education projects and ensure designs comply with the baseline guidelines for schools set out by The Education Funding Agency (the DFE’s delivery agency for funding and compliance.) Library design must ensure students of all ages and abilities can access the environment and resources. There should be individual use areas, study spaces, informal reading areas and access to fiction, non-fiction and ICT equipment.
The school library should be exciting and welcoming, and identifiably different from classrooms.

With access to the widest choice of furniture and equipment for education, we offer advice throughout the product selection process, guiding you through BS EN standards, suitability of fabrics, mood boards and product samples to try out.

We work in partnership with you to understand your vision and the unique needs of your students. From calculating storage requirements for your books, creating different zones for collaboration and private study, appropriate ICT to bespoke furniture or themes, we listen to your brief and work with you and our in-house design team to create a design proposal unique to your
