Shirley High School is a co-educational academy situated in the London Borough of Croydon. First opening in 1954, it now has specialist status as a performing arts college providing a culture rich education to a diverse cohort of students aged 11-18 years old. Following a successful refurbishment of their first-floor science block in 2023 and for the second floor in 2024, we were invited back for the refurbishment of additional science labs as part of this 4-year phased roll-out programme to transform the school’s STEM spaces.

Continuing our close partnership with the college, we developed a design and specification that complemented the style and finishes of previous installations, delivering a complete modernisation and refresh of the science laboratories.

Now in our third consecutive summer working with the school, our team’s familiarity with the site enabled a precise installation of fitted furniture and worktops, carefully accommodating existing fixtures such as radiators and pipework to achieve a clean, professional finish.

When the client requested a last-minute design change to extend a worktop surface, our design team responded quickly and efficiently, keeping the project on schedule and ensuring a seamless installation from start to finish.
