Established in 1895, Ysgol Y Moelwyn is a Welsh secondary school located in Blaenau Ffestiniog, serving a community identified as an area of deprivation. The school provides a high standard of secondary education to local pupils.

This summer, we successfully completed a phased refurbishment of the school’s science laboratories, delivering and installing fitted furniture, loose furniture and fume cupboards in partnership with the main contractor, Teksol Limited. Through a series of design engagement meetings, we helped bring the school’s vision to life with detailed design visuals.

We transformed the school’s science labs and prep rooms with modern fitted cabinetry, bench desking and smart storage solutions. Each subject area was given its own distinctive character through vibrant laminate colour palettes. Postura+ stools were chosen for their quality, durability and ergonomic comfort.

Careful planning ensured smooth logistics and installation, addressing the challenges of working within a compact 1950s building and first-floor location. This project forms part of the Government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Welsh educational environments and supporting the next generation of learners.

Students at Ysgol Y Moelwyn now benefit from fresh, functional and future-ready spaces designed to inspire and develop their scientific skills.
